since he was 3 he was playing percussion to Samba in Brasil, and later on drums to 70s Soul, Reggae, Salsa, and more. this led ruben to be inspired to start Zumi Records when he was 15, as a label to incorparate all genres of music with a universal sound. he’s been playing music with his brother zumi since they were youngins and he produces, mixes, and manages their music, along with being the drummer in the zumi band, and producing the Zumi Records artists. ruben has been making beats and producing for a while, from boombap and hypertrap to rnb and reggae. when he was younger he lived in Bahia, Brasil, and philly as well, as he comes from a Japanese-Brasillian background
